Poem for Philonise Floyd

They murdered your brother in broad daylight.
He begged for help and cried out ‘I can’t breathe!’
We're tired of seeing black people dying

and the murderers not doing any time
for a crime that everyone can see.
They murdered your brother in broad daylight.

They took a life and now they deserve life.
They can’t be able to walk away free.
We're tired of seeing black people dying

and then listen to murderers trying
to claim it was your fault, not the police.
They murdered your brother in broad daylight.

They ground his neck on camera until he died
as bystanders filmed, watched, begged, and pleaded.
We're tired of seeing black people dying.

You don’t have any rights unless you’re white.
It's time for all of us to take a knee.
They murdered your brother in broad daylight.
I’m sick and tired and seeing black people die.
