This  is  a  cage
for  the  hopeless  to  hide themselves  in,
in  that  safety-gilded,
softly  mantling,
mesmerizing  serpent
of  a  golden  cage.
 
This  is  a  cage
for   the  arrogant  to  shut  themselves  in,
in  that  vanity-gilded,
glamorizing  fame
of  a  golden  cage.
 
This  is  a  cage
for  the  greedy  to  seal  themselves  in,
in  that  money-gilded,
unscrupulous,  rampaging,  waylaying
plunderer  of  a  golden  cage.
 
This  is  a  cage
for  the  ignorant  to  lock  themselves  in,
in  that  pseudo-knowledge-gilded,
amnesia-stricken,  amateurish  lecturer
of  a  golden  cage.
 
This  is  a  cage
for   the  ambitious  to  imprison  themselves  in,
in  that  despair-gilded,
disappointing,  disheartening  dismay
of  a  golden  cage.
