Brad says, "I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's and received a master's degree at the University of Michigan. My family and I now live in the mountains above Boulder, Colorado.

"I got into the arts with friends who had a rock band. We did elaborate performances that used slide photography, pyrotechniques and sometimes modern dance. We also did one of the earliest music videos using ground breaking video synthesis by the renowned Jack Vetterli. I also composed and performed electronic music, developing sound colors and texture similar to what I look for in my photography.

"My approach to producing my images is similar to my methods in electronic music. With sound synthesizers, I explored the full range of every oscillator and treatment, pushing them to the limit and backing then off. I work in Photoshop without any preconceived rules of how photography is supposed to be. I push the limits the same way I did with electronic music to come up with images that only remotely resemble the original subject." Drop him a line at bradmhatch@yahoo.com.

Hey Brad, really like your images. We would be bumping into each other if we shot in the same neighborhood. You have a good eye and a sensitive touch.
