Stay Forever

Cold, black and white winter afternoon
Stillness of the deserted playground
Capturing my attention
Essence of loss stinging my soul

When did it happen?
When I turned around?

Laughter sliding down from heaven
Singing higher, higher
Look at me
I can touch the sky

Outdoor smell on playing children
Musty, sweaty, innocence

Smiling, dancing faces in the moment
Eyes pleading to stay
No more going home
Yes, you can stay here forever
