A Sunset a Plum Tree and Dawn

Have you ever seen a sunset
When the dying day has fled
And the whole world seems to wallow in its glow,
When the melting sun effulgent
Paints the sky a pallid red
And the breezes are too mystified to blow?

Have you ever seen a plum tree
When it blossoms overnight
Although snow lies all about it on the ground,
And the people gaze with wonder
At the flowers pink and white
While the snowflakes swirl in silence all around?

Have you ever been out walking
In the first clear light of dawn
When suddenly a robin starts to sing,
And both man and beast are happy
For the dark of night is gone
As they listen to the harbinger of spring?
