Moral Majority
I
you
want
to put me
in
your big
white
box
the one
for people
who are
too dumb
too smart
too old
too young
too black
too liberal
too gay
too different....
you won't rest
until we're
all
gone
hidden
from view
our lives
arrested
ideas untried
our
love untested...
tucked away
in that
big
white box
of yours
forgotten
out of sight....
it seems
you forgot
that
even goldilocks
tasted all
the porridge
before
she said
this one is just right
II
you keep trying
but
can't quite
figure me out
thinking
you have
to change
me
to maybe
snip
off a piece
here or there
until i.....
neatly pruned
finally
fit
squeezed
into that
dark
scary place
behind
your
conscience
where
everything
is
perfect
and sterile....
where
ideas
dry up
like
cum stains
and everyone
is pushing
hard
on doors
already open
desperately
trying
to escape.....
to survive
the pain
of knowing you.
