GhostsTo John R. Harford's next piece

It is so easy
cellophane between my lips
teeth snap,
the wrapping
suck out the cool
of the peppermint
just as easy
teeth snap
the flesh
spongy surcoat
skin it
with a tongue flick
leaving pulpy meat scepter
tangy stream,
thick, crimson sea-side air
elixir more refreshing
than any stick of candy.
