other places ... say sorry, but this
whiskey & there was a dam. wet figs
rotting on the lawn, so dont lie down]

then it rushes in like in a boat
 the scenes, maybe three, maybe
 two people, its short, simple
 theyre in bedroom, shouting at
 petrol attendants; in the shop
getting intimate, in terms of tone

 bread getting broken, heads getting
spread, some clothes stolen, a peg]

Michael FarrellMichael Farrell has published several books and chapbooks, most recently Thou Sand (Tinfish). He coedited with Jill Jones Out of the Box: Contemporary Australian Gay and Lesbian Poets, and has edited features for slope, Gutcult, cordite and ecopoetics. From his poems you can tell he 1) grew up in the bush; 2) is a fan of both Edwin Morgan and Frank O'Hara, and 3) has been to Rome (a romantic disaster).
