George, my loveTo Joe Hart's previous piece

George, my love

The other day you held my hand in Denny's
And ended my dislike and jealousy
Of lovers who hold hands in public places,
For now I have a lover of my own.
And once I did remember all I dreamed,
But now I only know that I have dreamt
But don't recall the contents of my sleep.
I wonder do I ever dream of you?
You fill my waking days with happiness,
Why not my nights without impediment,
To hold you gently in my arms til dawn?
