Now your resolutions are waning:
the winter fog settles
heavy as the fleece you wound
round your neck this morning
but still joy gapes at you, arresting
your muddied consciousness,
bellowing at you
in the midst of your scurried plans
with the sight of a nascent
early-blooming cherry blossom
unfurling its delicate, whisper-pink blossoms
into the grey-moist air, just
to tell you: Aha! Spring is near,
waiting just around the corner,
where you left your last regret.
