Murderer's Prayer

Glory be tonight for sharpened things,
for doors unlocked, windows wide open,
for sleep-stretched all with heads tricked back by moonlight.
Clean brutal throat-cutting. In a wren's breath.
Hang them to the left they resurrect to the right.

  My tattoos-shift & parade & weep.
All things: spider, number, skull, flame-
for god so loved his only forgotten son
he shoo'd birds & shoo'd birds. Adazzle, dim.
Electric chair you stitch me down with violin strings.
                                                Amen.
