Hello

would be nice
next time we find
ourselves down aisle
nine, inbetween canned
kidney beans and bagged
rice. Hello is a simple word
people use as a form of greeting
one another. I've even seen complete
strangers use it. I'm sure we can manage
at least a nod of acknowledgement, seeing as
we're well acquainted, although, I must say how
you've changed, what, with that basket of yours full
of oats and berries, brussel sprouts and dried fruit. I knew
you when a flank was dinner and nutritional side panels were for
the birds, judging by your cart load you're either feeding them or turning
into one. Mr. suddenly aware, health conscious veggie guru, I didn't know
birds drank red wine, I suppose a smile would be asking too much.
