The Hanging Mezzanine

suddenly
it’s all there before you
the eyes
the mouth
the teeth
the legs
and you’re drunk
which is bound to happen
so her eyes don’t look
like eyes
and the mouth
teeth and legs...
you remembered them
differently
and she must work-out
for sure
all that power!
that gusto!
her grip like a dead cavalryman
ass as hard as granite
and stamina to boot!
you wouldn’t believe
the positions she could
stretch into and out of

it’s what you’ve been waiting for
all that tugging and pulling is her job now
she’s getting to like it too
so you keep schtum
and let her get on with it
the telephonist who’s
eyes don’t look like eyes
who’s mouth, teeth and legs
you remembered quite differently indeed
