Father Rick Says (Homily #3)

Lust is one of the deadliest sins.
And all the women in the parish
Attentively put their legs together,
Bottle up vaginal juices at the narrow
Neck of their own personal vintage.
Older ones, officially corked long ago,
Smile with vinegar contentment.
Younger ones squirm and might confess how
Corkscrews give them unnatural feelings.
The men straighten limp candles of ties,
Wait to light cigarettes after Mass.
Then, as one, the parish lines up
To receive unleavened bread, sips of wine.
Hands are folded in front of everyone as if
The body could grow its own fig leaves.
