Hello Unlikely creatures! Once again, Unlikely Stories Mark V and Unlikely Books will be at the Conference of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, this time in Seattle, March 8-11!

We'll be sharing a table with the fine folks at Rigorous: a journal by people of color. We've got a great spot this year, table 1003—right between the Mississippi Review and Sonora Review. We'll bring the chaos! So come meet Unlikely staffers Jonathan Penton and Laura Mattingly, as well as the editors of Rigorous: Kenning JP García and Rosalyn Spencer!

On Thursday, March 9, at 10:35am, our Editor-in-Chief, the aforementioned Jonathan Penton will present as part of "Reading at 24 Frames Per Second: Exploring Cinematic Influence on Literature," a panel on literature influenced by film. He'll be presenting with the aforementioned Rosalyn Spencer, as well as David Byron Queen, Rone Shavers, and Tara Stillions Whitehead. It'll be in Rooms 435-436, Summit Building, Seattle Convention Center, Level 4.

Rigorous editor Kenning JP García, for xir part, will be presenting in two panels! First, there's "Dismissing the Boundaries of Latinx Poetry" alongside Victorio Reyes Asili, Holnes, Raina J. León, and Daphne Maysonet. That's on Friday, March 10, Rooms 347-348, Summit Building, Seattle Convention Center, Level 3. And xir will be presenting in "#FeelsBad: Writing Discomfort and Pessimism in Genre" alongside Vidhu Aggarwal, Ginger Ko, Alexandrine Ogundimu, and Katie Jean Shinkle. That's on Saturday, March 11, Room 437, Summit Building, Seattle Convention Center, Level 4. Check xir out!

And on the afternoon of Saturday, March 11, Unlikely Stories Mark V and Rigorous will team up with the fantastic folks at Hanging Loose Press to present an awseome, three-hour poetry reading with many of your favorites! This will be from 1pm to 4pm at the Vermillion Art Gallery and Bar at 1508 11th Avenue in Seattle! Readers will include John Wall Barger, Martine Bellen, Gerald Fleming, Joanna Fuhrman, Kenning JP García, Tobey Hiller, Martha Jackson Kaplan, Cecilia Martinez-Gil, Laura Mattingly, Gloria Mindock, Renuka Raghavan, Thaddeus Rutkowski, Rone Shavers, Rats Alice Trujillo, Dana Venerable, and Marc Vincenz!
