Matt Sesow was born in Nebraska in 1966. When he was eight, he was struck by a landing airplane near his home, and his dominant hand was amputated. In 1993, he began to paint in oils, and completed his first short film. The next year, his films were shown at the Washington Project for the Arts group exhibition, and since then his paintings and films have been shown in New York, San Jose, Atlanta, Washington, DC, Minneapolis and Lincoln.
