Later Has Passed, Never Just Started

Someone said:
“God died in the ‘80s.”
Not bad for a 5-year-old,
Could be something to that.

Christmas meant a bottle
Of tequila for Uncle Louie,
Now spraying Rustoleum
On the pearly gates.

Mind gone rancid:
Mister, you better hit
Your knees & start
Some serious dreaming.

A scarred face
Sleep-creased all to hell
Reminds me:
When do we wake up?

Only wondering –
But wipe that drool
Off your chin
In case it’s soon.
