Gyros or Chemicals

I have never understood happiness.

Happiness is something you must 
bestow upon yourself; if you rely on 
other people to make you happy, you'll 
generally be disappointed. 

As clear as this concept is to me, I can
never endorse it wholly; happy people
appear to possess something internal
that fuels their joy, or some instinct

which gravitates them towards happiness.
My inner gyro always spins the other way,
towards a general sadness . . . bad for
contentment, but good for writing poems.
