Death on the Road

The wind was howling,
Trees were bowing,
Lightning flashed across the sky;
Rain was falling,
Ghosts were calling
Somebody was going to die.

His wife pleading,
"Jack, stop speeding,"
Made the fool speed all the more.
Wife imploring,
Thunder roaring,
Death came knocking at the door!
