In the midst of my depression
I stopped to pen a rhyme
My ailing mind will still allow it

Today I am coherent
Though enervated and confused
Tomorrow I may be mad or dead
I must be cautious, I dare not be afraid

I share this thing with you while I have time
This despair of mine
I don't remember why I feel this way
I can't remember why I write
