The sky switches on
In the eyes of
A thousand deer

Winter is waiting
Somewhere

And out there
A wart looks
Straight at me

A tough fleshed
Carbon-dated woman
With matted hair

"Whatcha starin' at?"

My cheeks and ears
Go red
The day closes
Faster and faster

Somewhere a blind man
Counts 14 steps
To the sunset and back

The clouds start
And thank god
Something bigger out there
Is moving

A split bleeds the color
Of my skin

Two deer cross a railroad

(the sun swims up)

Dodging the prisms
Between piles of
Shattered glass
