requiem for andy warhol

not an artist a business man
not a creator a destroyer
target practice
painted a soup can
you thought they all loved you
they loved what you had what you symbolized
money
they loved what you did for it
nothing
you should have filmed yourself reading duchamp
your life was elvis shooting a television
or a child dropping a stone in a lake
you are a god to dilettantes
there was nothing inside you but tomato soup
i guess thats the point
youre so hip you make me want to molest children
your death was a newspaper
blowing across an empty street
on a muted television set
with a muddied reception
