The Kiss of Death

The queen bee leaves her treasured hive
And sallies to the azure blue
In nuptial flight, for once alive
To all ethereal and true.
Her wings keep up a steady whir;
The drone attracted, fiercely flies
And finally catches up to her--
The kiss of death, and then he dies.
