Curly Poured Me a ShotTo Paul Sibley's previous piece Her Skin Was SoftTo Paul Sibley's next piece

I pulled my collar
Around my neck
And gripped myself
In the brief moment
When the train sped through the
Darkness
I tried to fight off the chill I felt
When she came in his arms
I could feel it
Miles away
As she opened her eyes
And smiled at me through his eyes
Deep in my bones
She had broken the connection
Giving him everything that
Had been mine.
Would he ever know
Sweating and exhausted
Beside her
Smelling the lilac
In her blonde hair
That she would never be his
As she had never been mine
