Retarded Story

`There was this retarded guy with his father at the bookstore counter the other day. The retarded son kept giving me these serial killer looks, and I just tried to smile and act friendly .He looked about 18 I think. After all, I trick all the rest of them, what could he know about me?

I'm just an average Joe, just an American citizen working at a low paying job. But for some reason this retarded kid didn't like my smiles, and I could see this was leading up to a potentially disastrous situation. Which of course I was in no mood for, after only getting a few hours sleep before work.

So, I was ringing up his dad's military books, trying not to look at the retarded boy, but I just had to take one more peek, as I handed his father the credit card slip to sign.

The boy went berserk when I looked at him.

"He's the one dad! He's got rabbits in his house! Dead rabbits and corn flakes!" the retarded boy yelled.

I didn't know what to do, as his father tried to calm him.

"Stop that Barry! Stop that right now!" his father yelled, as I tried to melt away from the lights of this store. Employees gathered around, and lookie loo customers.

His father practically dragged his big flabby body out of the store, as his son continued to yell.

"He's the munchkin, the doll in my drawer! He's gonna kill us all! He's like eyes without a face!" the retarded boy bellowed, still staring at me. For some reason I thought of Billy Idol. I thought of sleep.

That situation really made me twitchy.

I had a girl watch the register, so I could go have a smoke, and deal with fellow employees saying..

"What did you do to him?"

"What happened?"

Stupid questions from stupid people.

"I didn't do nothing man, I was just smiling." I responded, nervously.

My boss told me to take the rest of the day off. Cause he could tell the whole situation had sort of freaked me out. I went home and slept. The next day at work it wasn't mentioned. Probably cause I had no explanation.
