Avalon Frost

Avalon FrostAvalon Frost’s music is a beautiful embodiment of the feminine ideal; strong and sentient. Avalon’s talent as a singer/songwriter is without question, her voice being a rich invitation to complicated and emotionally dense content. It is luxuriant and I can honestly say, representative of ‘woman.’ The music itself is eclectic with a prominent heartbeat and sensual, electrified undertones. Rhythm and blues, rock and roll, electronica, and funk fused with muted elements of trip hop, perceptually, the melodies of her music seem to stretch under her voice, to mold around her powerful bidding. Although this Georgian native has worked with many different artists over her career, she is currently in collaboration with DJ Boom (Crystal Waters, KRS One, and Jay-Z) and Scotty Beam. Inspired by artists such as Portishead, Tricky, Grace Jones, David Bowie, and Massive Attack, Avalon Frost’s biography is inspirational and important, a testament to passion and determination.

This month we are presenting an array of Avalon Frost’s music as well as an interview with her. We hope you enjoy and urge you to visit her site at www.avalonfrost.com where you can find out more about her, her music, her shows and her purchasable recordings. —DG
