The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread. —Anatole France

Cecilia Ferreira"My work is a direct reflection of what I see.

"I see everything. I look at a stranger on the subway and I see how lonely he is and how he is wondering what the lady sitting across him is wearing as underwear. I look at the girl working at McDonalds, wearing her hat as low as possible and I know how she wants to scream her head off and spit in the burgers. Sometimes I see so much in people, I blush, as if I am invading on their secrets without wanting to, or as if I opened a door without knocking.

"It is this vision I want to share with the world. If I can somehow portray how beautiful human flaws are I would convey a message of truth. We are all bruised apples that didn't fall far from the tree. There is a lot of beauty in those specific parts in the human psyche that society wants us to hide. We are animals who are not allowed to give in to our instincts due to the civilized stigma attached to walking on two legs.

"My art wants to unveil humans, leaf by leaf, until we stand naked again.
