Arthur Durkee is a musician, artist and poet, born in Detroit in the last few hours of Capricorn in 1959, grew up in India, has been around the world a few times, and lives a semi-nomadic existence as a professional photographer, musician, and artist. His artwork has been described as shamanic, visionary, archetypal, transformative, spiritual, and mythopoetic. He works principally with photography, digital art, landscape and site-specific art, poetry, music, and computer-assisted new media. His artwork, music and poetry have won national, regional, and local awards.
These images are from the series Spiral Dance, which will be published eventually as a deck of cards for meditation and transformation, featuring universal, transpersonal, shamanic and archetypal imagery. The images are photo-collages derived from original photographs and artwork, processed through Photoshop into visionary art. This is my principal working method for my visual digital art.
