Three Poems by Theron Kennedy

Player

If life is
in the right now
I want to be
on the front edge
leaning forward
with the wind
in my face
feeling
every new lifetime
even the ones that
weather me

I've been learning
about aloneness
maybe it's a gift
maybe it's an invitation
to step away from
my delusions
my illusions
my confusion
and my conclusions

Maybe it's the doorway
to freedom
a wilderness
at night time
with the birth of dawn
waiting on the other side

And on the other side
maybe there is ME
fully integrated
reanimated
all together, and altogether One
a 7 billion part harmony.

The band is tuning up.

Centered

I feel freedom
from time
space
from
the accumulations
the erosions
of the third circuit
when I'm with you
we are free
even from our bodies
we are no longer
conscious of ourselves
life flows into us
is transformed
into intimacy
physical expressions
of spiritual truths
youthful euphoria
igniting the sun
losing our delusions,
our illusions
sudden clarity
we are back
at one

Lost Causes

... And songbirds came
in all shapes, sizes, and colors;
perfection comes
in the expression
of their unique song.

Julian sang ex-votos
from his perch a-top
New York City.
He told subatomic stories
of lost causes
with great needs.
You could feel
them as his melodies
carried you along
the paths of
faceless nobodies,
drops in oceans,
who didn't know
they were the whole.

Through Julian's song
You faded into We,
they faded into Me.
Things only
got better slowly,
and only for those
who had no choice
but to sing.

Theron Kennedy has been writing since the age of seventeen. He has done talk radio and hosted a show called Big Urban's Reality Show back in 2008. Since August of 2008, Theron has been focusing more on writing which includes the studying of art forms and the development of his voice as a writer. He has written over 1200 poems and has read a lot of classic poets but is heavily influenced by a lifelong love for Hip Hop. He has self-published a book called Love Always Theory.
