Unlikely 2.0

If most of us are ashamed of shabby clothes and shoddy furniture, let us be more ashamed of shabby ideas and shoddy philosophies... It would be a sad situation if the wrapper were better than the meat wrapped inside it. —Albert Einstein

Patrick Nylen

Patrick NylenCheck out Patrick Nylen of Saint Paul, Minnesota, bringing us a unique and complex mixture of electronic, experimental, and psychedelic sound. Patrick's new album, Con*tect, relies heavily on found sound, which he incorporates digitally into the equivalent of an aural trip on hypnotics with rhythms that either take the rough edges off the brain after a hard day of mentally taxing work or propulsively encourage the psyche to reenergize.

In 2009, Patrick won the Academy of American Poets James Wright Prize for Poetry. Recently, he's worked on an audio/visual collaboration with Carter Meland, a professor of American Indian Literature at the University of Minnesota. You can listen to more music from Patrick at MySpace.com/TLKmidway.
