An Interview with Oasis
by Gabriel Ricard

Amateur porn, at its most basic, is not that difficult to understand. In fact, you can pretty much figure out what that entails from the two words alone.

And anyway, we're not here to get into that.

What brings us here, or, at least, what brings me here, is the question of its massive appeal, rivaling anything the big corporations came come up with. Porn is entertainment, a multi-billion dollar empire, and entertainment, at the simplest definition, is an exercise is escapism. So, why would people want to spend their time/money on the sort of men and women they probably see everyday?

Personally, it's something that's interested me for a while. The only theory I can come up with is that people dig it for the same reason they go for reality television. And since that's only a theory, and a pretty weak one at that, I decided my best bet was to seek out someone in the business.

With her website, cum2oasis.com, nearing its tenth year of existence, amateur porn veteran Oasis seemed to be the best opportunity.

Oasis will probably not hit the cover of Playboy anytime soon. She is not going to be mistaken for an airbrushed supermodel with huge, fake breasts. There's no real shame in that, and she knows it. The web site itself is not terribly complicated and has very rarely strayed from the format it has held onto since its inception. Oasis has sex with people and captures it with a video and still photography.

Sometimes, it's just her.

And that's about it. There's no real gimmick to sell the site (as opposed to a number of other successful amateur porn sites). And yet, it has remained in business longer than virtually any other site in the field, and continues to draw in new members regularly.

I suppose it was inevitable that I would approach her for an interview.
